Military Specifications Primer
MIL-PRF-15733
Filters and Capacitors, Radio Frequency Interference, General Specification
- All TSE products are designed and manufactured to the general requirements of 15733. All products are tested to Group A as applicable. Other testing is available on request.
MIL-STD-202
Test Methods for Electronic and Electrical Component Parts
- 15733 specifies MS202 for most test methods. To successfully test a part, a test requirement, usually contained in the top document and a test method are required.
MIL-STD-220
Method of Insertion Loss Measurement
- 15733 specifies MS220. MS220 specifies full load measurements between 100KHz and 20MHz. For AC rated parts, MS220 specifies using the DC equivalent of the peak AC current.
MIL-STD-461
Requirements for the Control of Electromagnetic Interference, Emissions, and Susceptibility of Subsystems and Equipment.
- 461 is requirement levels for systems and equipment (not filters). See TSE Tech Note 1106PZ.
MIL-PRF-28861
Filters and capacitors, RFI / EMI, General Specification
- This specification is like 15733 except 28861 is for parts using ceramic capacitors and has established reliability levels.
MIL-I-45208
Inspection System Requirements
- This specification is used as TSE Quality Specification along with TSE Quality Assurance Procedures QA7000.
MIL-T-10727
Tin Plating, Electro Deposited or Hot Dipped
- TSE uses Type I, Electro deposited with 3% minimum lead. As part of the process, TSE parts are hot oil fused after plating. The minimum lead content prevents tin 'whiskers'.
MIL-STD-810
Environmental Engineering Considerations and Laboratory Test
- This specification is environmental test methods and procedures. (782 pages with change notices)
